BivalTec Bivalve Spinal Immobilization Corset

Thoracolumbar corset made of 4 mm low density polyethylene and lined with easily removable padded fabric, which allows it to be washed and thus obtain good hygiene of the orthosis while protecting the patient from possible friction. A padded and height-adjustable splint is located on the front part, which allows to obtain a complete extension of the spine. Polyethylene is a heat-moldable material, which allows us to make adjustments to the corset by applying heat (the fabric lining must be removed before applying heat). The frontal plane is located from the sternum to the pubic symphysis; the breast area remains free in women. The posterior plane is located from the middle third of the scapula to half of the gluteal region. The double-shell goural corset has a lumbar lordosis of 15º. It is fixed with dobbies and Velcro straps at the iliac crests, waist and armpits. The height and depth of the sternum support can be adjusted by doubling the frontal splint, which allows us to adjust it correctly according to the physical characteristics of each patient. One of the main advantages of its design is that it facilitates its placement on bedridden patients.

Indications:
Conditions requiring immobilization of the spine or lumbar region, such as pre- and post-operative interventions on the spine. Vertebral fractures. Herniated disc. Osteoporosis. Spondylolysis, spondylolisthesis, spondyloarthropathy, painful scoliosis in adults, etc. Torn or lax ligaments. Neoplasia causing degenerative processes in the spine. Thoracic kyphosis in the middle and lower region of the spine. Prevention of spinal stenosis in bedridden patients.
