Levamed active is a support for soft tissue compression of the ankle joint with additional functional elements. It is easy to put on thanks to clever strap details and intuitive strap guides. The adjustable and removable strap system with elastic and non-elastic areas allows the ankle support to be individually adjusted to the foot. The higher transverse and longitudinal stretch ensures an extended relief zone and greater wearing comfort, especially for patients with a high instep.

The Levamed active support is used when soft tissue compression with local additional padding is required on the upper ankle joint (UAJ) or lower ankle joint (LAJ) and at least one direction of movement is to be restricted by additional functional elements. This is the case, for example, with

• Sprains (distortions) with capsular overstretching
• Chronic ligament instabilities with recurring twisting injuries (supination traumas)
• External ligament tears (ruptures) in the second treatment phase
• Treatment of injuries to the syndesmosis ligament that do not require surgery (conservative therapy)
• Levamed active: support with high wearing comfort

The combination of compressive fabric (CCL II), 3D silicone metatarsal pads on the inside and outside and an additional strap system ensures stabilisation of the joint. The individually adjustable strap system also makes it possible to restrict supination movement. A more precise and comfortable fit is achieved thanks to the 90-degree angle of the fabric, emphasised arch of the foot and extended underfoot. The compressive fabric can also have a positive effect on your own body awareness (proprioception).

The 3D silicone metatarsal pads provide a gentle massage effect and help to reduce swelling. The unique comfort knit with stretch zone at the upper edge makes them easier to put on. In addition, the enclosed donning aid made of balloon silk makes it easier to put on and position the Levamed active support correctly. 

The combination of high-tech and natural eucalyptus fibres makes the ankle support particularly gentle on the skin. Clima Comfort* also ensures a comfortable fit. The modern fibre technology is breathable and quickly wicks moisture away from the skin. The integrated Clima Fresh function also has an odour-inhibiting effect – an advantage, especially during increased physical activity. This is achieved using special thread technology in the production process.
