GenuTrain® S Pro Active Knee Brace with Articulated Side Braces and Adjustments
The side supports on the GenuTrain Pro S active orthosis have adjustable hinges.
In conjunction with the two non-elastic circular straps placed around the thigh and lower leg, they secure the knee joint during movements.
Depending on the adjustments made, the braces can be used to restrict the angle of flexion and extension of the leg.
This limitation of movement helps correct errors and protects the knee during certain phases of treatment.
Ensuring freedom of movement
The anatomical reinforcements on GenuTrain Pro S can be individually adjusted by a specialist to restrict the range of motion. By adjusting the hinge, the knee flexion angle can be limited to 30°, 60° or 90°.
Knee extension can also be limited to its full extent by locking the hinge at 20°.
These restrictions are designed to protect the knee and can be reduced as treatment progresses.
Together with the two non-elastic circular straps around the thigh and lower leg, the reinforcements provide secure support and relieve the collateral ligaments.
The knee is guided during movement and its freedom is maintained within safe limits.
Wearing this orthosis can thus compensate for any mild to moderate instability, due for example to osteoarthritis of the knee, while providing optimal stability for ligaments weakened by arthritis.
Activation of sensorimotor processes
The viscoelastic pad wraps around the kneecap to protect it and helps position the orthosis correctly.
During the movement, a massage effect is generated by the distortion of the ball and the compression knit, which activates the muscles and stimulates circulation.
This helps relieve pain and reduces swelling faster.
The orthosis thus activates sensorimotor processes by improving muscle control.
In addition to providing passive knee stabilization, it also provides more active support.
