Product Description
Knee orthosis is a first-class professional medical product that improves walking efficiency.

It is used for rehabilitation after knee joint injury.

It is made of innovative ACTIV PREN fabric.

Thanks to the use of the AIR SUPPLY SYSTEM (internal perforation of the soft part of the orthosis), the protected joint is well ventilated and excessive moisture is removed from the skin.

The orthosis is equipped with independent VELCRO tape reinforcement belts and double-axis polycentric lateral splints with ratchet whose flexion and extension movements are close to the anatomical movements of the joint.

The splints are made of high quality aluminum alloy with a sand cover without adjustment of the angle of flexion and extension. Soft anatomically shaped ring with antifungal properties, perfectly stabilizing the patella.


Purpose of use

- in case of advanced degenerative changes and/or instability due to injury or disease - in case of patients who do not agree or are not qualified for surgical intervention,

- after a non-surgical knee injury (sprain with ligament and muscle damage)

Contraindications

- In case of coexistence of varicose veins in the thigh, previous inflammation of the veins, swelling of the legs, the use of the orthosis is possible only with knee-high socks or pressure stockings II* specifically selected for varicose veins.

- In case of skin changes where the orthosis touches the skin (abrasions, wounds, eczema), it is necessary to contact your doctor. The use of the orthosis is possible after applying a bandage.

- Correct use of the splint should be particularly monitored in children, patients with memory disorders and the elderly.



Splints 2

Splints [2] - Dual-axis polycentric splints equipped with a rack and pinion mechanism that reproduces the anatomical movement of the knee joint.

These splints are mainly used in all types of knee joint orthoses, in cases where lateral stabilization of the joint is required.

They are made of high quality aluminum alloy, with a durable sanded coating, which protects the splint from the influence of sweat and salt.

The standard length of the splint is 280 mm.

The splints are equipped with a specially shaped silicone insert that stabilizes the splint and relieves the knee joint.

Information for patients

- Only a correctly selected, adjusted and used orthosis fulfills its function - incorrect use can lead to worsening of joint problems, skin abrasion, walking problems, swelling, inflammation of the veins - instructions for the use of the orthosis are given by the responsible doctor or therapist.

- The orthosis is designed for walking - in case of prolonged sitting, it is necessary to remove it;

- Long-term use of the orthosis may lead to decline in thigh muscles - regular exercise is recommended to strengthen the thigh muscles;

- In case of swelling of the shin or foot, it is necessary to contact the doctor - usually the use of varicose stockings is necessary;

- No cream, poultice, ointment, etc. should be used before applying the orthosis.

- Improper product care (insufficient washing and rinsing) can lead to skin abrasion, redness, allergic reactions linked to excessive sweating and the development of bacteria.
