This rhizarthrosis orthosis is perfectly functional because the IP and MP joints of the thumb are perfectly free. It opens the commissure of the thumb to rehabilitate the grip (opposition thumb/index finger) and in the lower part maintains the proximal head of metacarpus-1 in its place and helps to correct and prevent its dislocation.
