Reduces the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE): VPULSE reduces the incidence of VTE after major orthopedic surgery compared with pharmacologic prophylaxis. VTE is the leading cause of hospital readmission after major orthopedic surgery and the most common preventable cause of in-hospital death.

Offers a possible alternative to anticoagulants: VPULSE offers physicians another option to help tailor preventive care to patient risk and provides an alternative for patients contraindicated for anticoagulants.
